You have a wonderful talent for sniffing out the immaterial, Am.

Well, who and what is he?

I've never heard of him either

Rain  in NSW and Qld this week. I wonder if our rivers are full, our dams full?? Mr Flannery??????

Actually what he said was something along the line that we cannot depend on rain and dams.  Just because it rains in NSW and QLD does not mean that there are no parts of Australia that do not have enough water.  What is happening is exactly what was predicted; the weather is becoming more extreme, we are getting more droughts, more floods, more storms and more severe storms.

I disagree, the level of severity and frequency have not changed, however the awareness and the reporting of those events has.

The climate has always changed and always will, it is a much more complex mechanism than can be predicted. The variables are non predictable.

Anyone who has even a very basic understanding of Chaos Theory could tell you that

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Icy, if Steffen Petersen  is irrelevant to a discussion on climate change, then how is posting his opinion relevant?

And if we are to take him seriously then surely we need to know what his credentials are for saying what he does.

For example,  you or I (or anyone else here ) might  declaim at great length on the efficacy of dandelion tea as a remedy for any disease known to humankind  - but without any credentials to lend authority to that pronouncement we could hardly expect anyone  to take our claims seriously. - and, lets face it - they'd be pretty stupid if they did.

So the opinions of the general populace aren't relevant She-el?

So your opinions are also irrelevant?

So he's not a scientist nor anyone who's qualified? just some bloke's opinion from FB?

Ok, lol

I think you'll find that when I offer an opinion here  on any matter requiring expert knowledge I am usually very careful to include a  link to a credible source.

And it was you, yourself who accused Am of picking on irrelevancies when she asked who Steffen Petersen was.

I googled his name and I got... Chess player.... Events planner in Denmark.... Another is a photographer

"Shrugs"
