I love the name Charlotte, and love all the names chosen. I like Charlie as an abbreviation too.   

My name is Charlotte,it is very common now but in the early 70s it was unheard of ,I was called after a grandmother born late 1800s .From my experiences  the most common thing she will hear is re the spider... every kid asked if id spun any webs ect god it was annoying lol . As for harlot only  heard that once but its a name forever associated  with Charlottes web the book 

I hated it as a kid thought it was awful but I have come to like it .Cat LOL

Oh and never had anyone try to shorten always been charlotte
