Is that a problem?

It seems to be a problem here.

Muslim haters, whinging about Halal Cert that doesnt directly interfer with their activities of daily living in any way!

Got nothing better to do than sterotype all muslims in the same Halal basket to make themselves feel more superior!

MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL!

I have met, spoken with, eaten with many muslim folk.
They are fantastic people. They are NOT ALL secretely trying to bomb us or become the next super-power!

if you read the rest of it - one of the main objections

is funding religion ie religious places of worship/schools etc.

(and as per the sbs article - there is no evidence where

the money is actually going - hence the inquiry)

no different to those who refuse to fund christian

churches.  if you objected to certain church's

conduct - would you be happy buying products

knowing that some of the profits go to funding the

church?  i know a lot wouldn't.

If I didn't want my money to fund those churches or organisations I wouldn't buy those products. However I wouldn't assume that gave me the right to try to prevent other people from buying them.

well there are obviously some ppl who

feel very strongly about it and promoting

boycotts is not illegal in australia.

to janeababe - i hope it won't be long before

all unstunned slaughter becomes illegal in

australia like in many other countries whether

you like it or not Smiley Happy

just because you have become desensitised

to something - does not make it acceptable.

what reasons do you have to believe that 'free range'

is not in fact free range?  i would like more information

please ie who makes the false claim and what proof

you have.

which companies  sell products with halal labels

when in fact the products are not halal?

Halal certification.

It's a certification relating to certain foodstuffs (mainly meat and animal products)

It's a foodstuff certification system and therefore should be under direct government control and administration.

8. In Canada halal certification money was found to be used to fund organisations linked to extremist organisations. I have no doubt that would be happening here as well

LOL and you expect others to take your 'concerns' seriously.

So every food related business should be under government control and administration?

Are you talking to me? 😉

Any person (or business concern) who purports to offer a certain certification for food, should, in my opinion, definitely be subject to govt oversight and regulation.

They are subject to the same rules as every other business in Australia.

My phone only allows me to reply to the OP

Ok, fair enough. Just so the process is open and transparent.

some people here dont seem to understand the difference between halal and certified halal.

i resent paying the jizya in a western country.

i wil be cooking halal food for a dear muslim friend of my family tomorrow who i dearly like.

i am not a racist, as islam is not a race.

i just cant see why i should be paying the jizya in australia.

if i lived in saudi arabia - fair enough. but not here.
