I don't know about other countries but in England you have to have worked there for at least three years to receive any UK pension. I started work in UK when I was 17 and left when I was 21, but within that time I had spent 12 months working as an "au pair" in France and Switzerland, so I don't quite qualify.

I seem to be talking a bit about my father lately - he was never naturalized (a POM by birth) - and he received the Australian Pension - plus a war pension from England.
