Totally agree. I will add that the pain and fear and cruelty doesn't begin at the abattoir or factory for any living animal which is bred for consumption. It begins soon after birth.

Double-agree polks. Battery hens, cage hens, sow stall/farrowing crate pigs (or any other confined animal for that matter), geese raised for foie gras, veal, feedlot cattle, live animal export, to mention just a few, the list is too long.
