It's a bit like Princess Diana's marriage, there was 3 people in a marriage of 2, one was the opposition leader & the other was Rudd.

She had to fight Abbott & nearly 50% of her own party led by Rudd. She really didn't have a chance & history will show that.

It was all very civilised? I was wondering about what had been discussed prior... was Ms Gillard sick of it? ready to walk? was it agreed on beforehand?

All the more amazing that she was able to achieve as much as she did - and history will show that too.
