hi Girls

Flashie I love all of those those.  I'm sure I was born in the wrong era.  Will have a better look at them later. tonight.. have to rush .. we're heading out to dinner with some friends

thanks for posting them  Smiley Happy

Gorgeuous gowns, Flashie - nice for dressing up, but I'm not sure I'd want to wear threm every day, they look a bit hevy.

Dinner tonight is pumpkin soup, a sausage roll and the last of the pavlova from Mr Elephant's Birthday dinner on thursday.

Thanks for sharing the pics Flashie

Nice you are finally able to do so hey?

Were all those dresses sourced in Tasmania or also imported from other States?

Don't you just feel for the early colonists who had to wear clothes like that in our various climates - OK in Tassie perhaps but not so much here in the west.  Beautiful? Yes!  Suitable? Less so!

Looking at them makes me think of Jane Campion's film 'The Piano' - the Scottish pianist being plonked on a beach with her piano and totally inappropriate clothing.

.

Morning everyone (just):smileyhappy:

i wonder if they were all sourced from Tassie Laney?

the handwork and detail in the gowns is amazing... Flashie i have some christening gowns like the one in your picture.. Some of my Antique dolls wear them.

Mourning jewellery is highly collectable.. I have some rings like those pictured in the middle row. The flower cluster ones with the pearls.

I'm trying hard to get the housework done.. Because I have to. we have visitors coming later, but I really can't be bothered. Would much rather be just doing nothing today. I was wondering, was purple also a mourning colour? Quite a few of Flashie's pics show purple clothes.  if it was, I have learned something new

morning everyone  Smiley Happy
