It's funny that you Deb and Nics mentioned the camellias flowering early.  One of mine is flowering now and I thought is was late flowering.  This one seems to flower in Autumn.  The other one might be spring, not sure, but they don't seem to flower at the same time.

They are both camellia japonica.

Joono

funny how they flower at different times. I've got one japonica almost flowering and another one not.... the sasanqua ones  are earlyish, late autumn

E starts at Deakin today, so a big day for her

I was just reading about Nic's and Deb's camellias j*oono and was thinking about ours.  We have three huge camellias at the front of the house - one double white (has been covered in blooms for weeks now) a pinkish red one (also covered in flowers but not as early as the white one) and a red one which I don't really like which has not even bloomed yet although covered in buds.

They are all japonicas - all slightly different flower forms - but I love the double white and wish they were all the same.

Edited to wave to Deb - missed your post

.

mine that's about to flower is also the white one Laney ( big flowers)

Love the effect of those massed paper daisies j*oono.

A few neighbours have their verges covered in them - sure saves mowing lol

.

Deb our white one is almost finished now - the lawn is carpeted with white flowers and the ones still on the plant are looking a little less than perfect after all the rain

.

It's a pity they are annuals Laney.  Maybe if they are still selling them next weekend I will buy some more.  The seedlings are well advance and should do well.

Joono

it;s amazing to me that you can potter around in your gardens at this time of year, we get the odd day but mostly it's just too cold.

Laney when my white one is finishing, the pink one next to it starts flowering, for a very short time they are both flowering together, I'll take a photo when they do
