Well.......it's not bikini weather here.Smiley Tongue

With stained hands and the odd splinter, I'm reporting that one can "patch" french polish.  One just needs to know when to stop. With one tiny blemish, the wood looked really good.  However...........I tried to fix that tiny, eenie weenie, little spot. Disaster.  Ended up doing the full strip; and have come up with a so-so finish.  It'll do.

The project piece used to be an office desk-topper, and is being converted to a coat/shelf rack to be hung on the wall at the front door entrance.

How's everyone?

Been a while since I've had the "good earth" on my hands here.  Zilch action in the garden other than to wander around.

DEB

Sounds interesting DEB ....

Been busy here, planting a new garden, laying a base ready for the gravel paths we are creating, generally tidying up and getting ready for spring planting.

The wind here is freezing atm, so it's an inside day today, catching upon housework

It's just started opening buds......Hardenbergia.....woo hoo, spring's coming.

I am still going into the sea 😛

finished the packing and moving but not the unpacking. Where to put two bookcases full of books without bookcases? Hmmmm.

A few planks of wood and some bricks may do the trick for a while Amber.

Good idea. Thanks.

rambling path.jpg

A rambling path.  A little like my afternoon yesterday.

I rambled around the area where that "special" person and I used to walk.  His funeral was yesterday - I didn't attend.

It was also the anniversary of my mother's death.

We used to ramble too.  On cow paddocks that are covered in housing now, seasonally we picked either mushrooms or blackberries.

Rambling memories.

DEB

Cute cottage DEB  ... "rambling"  can be great for the soul at times 🙂

Cool and damp here this morning,  so just a quick "ramble" around my garden, then back inside to the fire  .... Hope it fines up, as I have 50 strawberry plants, all patiently waiting to going into the ground.

My poppies have started to bloom, adding some much needed colour to the garden

Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend

It's been many years since I rambled at all... but I still love walking in the fresh air (usually with a couple of dogs towing me!) I do miss the bush feel of the walks I could take them on back where we lived on the edge of town - here we are right in the middle of suburbia.

I am waiting with anticipation for the first of those daffodils I planted to open its bud! I think I only lost about 3 bulbs all up, and suspect cats digging to have destroyed the new shoots on those before I managed to protect the bed with netting Smiley Mad

I got a surprise too - there are bunches of other bulb shoots that have appeared along the edges where I put the freeisas! They must have been wayyy down deep! I think they may be bluebells?? Waiting on flowers to let me know...
