I think it matters more what adventure means to you; my version of adventurous is extremely varied, and yes indeed adventure comes in many different forms.
Varied forms, true. For some adventure would be climbing a high mountain, others.... like me sometimes .... finding a great new author. Though come to think of it a true adventure probably would have some risk attached to it.

Noun: an unusual and exciting or daring experience
Verb: engage in daring or risky activity
The common theme is 'daring', so I would say an adventure is something that is out of your comfort zone. It might be out of your comfort zone to drive a different way home! For those used to pushing the limits, for them an adventure might mean skydiving. So it definitely means different things to different people.

Funny you should mention comfort zone, as I've been thinking about this and what adventure means and that crossed my mind too.
Spot on, to venture out of one's comfort zone could certainly carry a sense of risk for some.
