hmmm....i think that is a little naive.
this current threat is different.
these terrorist leaders are probably
a lot smarter than you think and
much better organised than you think.
internet/social media plays a huge role,
something that was not there before.
With respect, Julia you have no idea how or what I think.
Whyis it naive to assume there will always be extremists and crackpots? has there ever been a time when they didn't exist? is there ever likely to be a time when they don't exist?
Is the seriousness of any attack dependant upon the motive of the attacker? Are the three men who died in the Hilton Hotel bombing any less dead than the man killed in the Parramatta police station attack.
I'm sure there are some very smart extremists out there but:
How smart do you reckon that 15 year old terrorist was?
How smart do you reckon the people who egged hin on were? (assuming he didn't act alone)
How smart was the criminal who sold him the gun?

Smarter than I think, apparently - but you'd have to ask Julia.

Personally, I think they are all smart. Massively misguided to our Society's way of behaviour though.
After all, it is the Intelligence Agencies that are trying to keep up.

Nup, just look younger. I often was assumed to be my son's sister.
I could tell you my secret. ![]()

Is the seriousness of any attack dependant upon the motive of the attacker?
in my opinion, the motives are extremely
important in order to understand what type
of threat we may be exposed to.
which makes some (threats) more serious
than others, yes, absolutely, in my opinion.
