Since I have no idea how many people  acrtually come to these  forums, whether to post or simply to read, I would not presume to know what opinion the overwhelming majority of them have on this or  any topic. I was referring, to the overwhelming majority of people posting on this thread.

Thanks for clarifying that point

For everyone

It certainly is.All those people supporting acts of terrorism, like incarcerating men, women and children in offshore detention centres and conducting bombing sorties in foreign lands.

Maybe ask the people in Turkey who were dancing for peace before the suicide bombers walked up to them what terrorism is. Anywhere, anytime, anyone. That is terrorism.

The rally was called by labour unions, leftist groups, NGOs and the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) - the same groups that had called the peace rally targeted in Saturday's attack.

Two senior officials told Reuters news agency that initial signs pointed to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) responsibility in the Ankara bombings.

However, several demonstrators blamed President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the attack, shouting "Erdogan murderer", "Government resign", and "The state will give account".

So far, no one has claimed responsibility for this attack and given the Turkish govt's position on Kurdish claims for independence, it's possible (probable?) that this bombing was not carried out by ISIS or any other related group.

I wasn't saying it was ISIS, just trying to point out what actual terrorism is.

It's just that we can never trust our govt or anyone else's govt to tell us the truth. Did they ever?

We can only listen to what they say and then observe what they subsequently do, and then fry our brain cells trying to work out what is the real truth.

Okay, nothing to do with what I responded to.

It is not terrorism to hold people in detention when they illegally attempt to enter a country. Which is why I posted what I did about Turkey, regardless of the motives, that is terrorism. Detaining illegal immigrants isn't. I feel sorry for those kids, and I don't know what the best solution is that benefits all is. The world got so volatile.

I'd rather see the children placed with Aussie foster families than see them in detention camps. After all, they are they are innocent of any machinations.

Some of the people coming here claiming refugee status are not genuine while some undoubtedly are.

Which of these two groups is more likely to respond positively to such an offer as I have suggested?

I'll bet the children feel terrorised, if only  because they haven't a clue what's going on. Unlike their parents who bring them here.

Well that's the whole point. Who is genuine and who isn't. And you can't remove "kids" from the equation entirely, brought up in a different world where life is cheap in order to achieve your goal. And, is there legal reasons why these kids can't be placed in foster care? Do the parents have to agree? And do they? What if they refuse permission?
