I am just getting into growing herbs, had a whole garden to establish, so one thing at a time ..... I dont have a Bunnings anywhere near me, so yes am definitely interested in making a worm farm from scratch. I prob wont get it done until nest yr, too many other gardening jobs to do atm ..... I cut my spring onions when I want some, they always grow back, great flavour, much nicer than the shop bought one .... I will keep an eye out for the "Mr Ugly" tomatoes, where I live the choice is quite limited, which is why I tend to grow quite a lot from seed ( much cheaper as well )

No-one grows beans?? - they are my favourite. Just planted dwarf beans. A friend has a good crop of broad beans.
We have silverbeet flourishing from last year - we really only grow it for the chooks and friends. We have also stuck some potatoes in - new potatoes for Christmas.
Picking salad onions from earlier in the year and have a few tomatoes in. I bought a small diggers brand tomato to see how that goes.
Still have some brocolli growing but the cabbages and caulis have finished. We usually have a few trays of the coloured lettuce you pick off fresh.
OH put old chook manure in one of the beds about 6 weeks ago and has been turning it over.

Sound good ty latina ..... we have only been here for 21 months, so its taken a while to get everything established and growing. I agree re supermarket produce, expensive and poor quality. I am not sure where your are, I am in SW Vic, very dry here and dont think its going to improve for quite a while which will make store bought f & v even more expensive.
Sorry Sandy .... no beans grown here, we dont eat them .... My cabbage are still going strong, still have quite a few left to pick.
I planted heaps of Lavender in my front garden, bees everywhere atm .... want to get some Borage growing out the back, the bees love that as well

Lurker, do you eat radish? They are super easy to grow from seed and so are carrots.
Love your cabbage BG.

Wow! Thanks everyone ![]()
We'll be off to the garden centre then to see what we can find there. I feel quite inspired now ![]()
