Absolutely, any advertising is good advertising, don't forget KFC had nothing to do with producing the menu so cannot be held accountable in any way for it's content or distribution. There are so many KFC cartoons out there on different forums so it has had thousands of free advertisements, yes the ad executives must be smiling very broadly.

Yep - subliminal advertising and product placement are HUGE sources of expenditure in advertising. People don't even realize that they are being subjected to advertising but the brand awareness is being imprinted into their minds subconsciously.

I think what NS is saying is not that the company would endorse it but more to do with "there is no such thing as bad publicity"...

yep, and people who probably had not even thought about KFC in weeks moths or years have now been swamped with reminders of its existence probably in prime time news slots (I don't watch TV), in major newspapers...... - and KFC didn't have to spend a cent.
