that's creepy !!!  but funny at the same time Woman Surprised

The fish pond's lying empty, now what do I do? - drain, clean, refill, clean again the pond or pull it out and leave it kerbside?

If I pull it out there'll be a hole about 4 foot across and about 2 foot deep, that's gonna need more than a bag of potting mix to fill it. Smiley LOL

I tried levering it out, but it sits on a couple of inches of springy topsoil, and the other 7/8ths is clay. No doubt moisture got in under the pond, and sticky, wet clay sticks, especially to fairly smooth fibreglass. The pond flexed, but nothing moved, so I decided rather than ending up with pieces of pond, because it wasn't likely to come out in one go, I'd just do the refill and clean.

This is not a weekend job. Well, maybe it is, as my weekends can run for several months. Smiley LOL

I'll give it a week or so for the algae killer, and then get back into it, weather permitting.

With any luck, and knowing my skill for putting things off until later, I'll have a fresh, clean pond, ready to go by... hmmm... March? Smiley LOL

There's never a dull moment, here. Smiley LOL

I found the idea in a book - it was a simple box with with squares, instead of spines, a sort of "Put Your Message Here And Make The Letters Dance" idea.

A good idea, but I thought it needed a touch of my particular imaginative skill. Smiley LOL

around 10 years ago at our old place we had pretty much the same problem

hubby had made a pond years before brick sides and then concrete layer inside it was about 7ft  x 5ft pretty big and it was great for years but the upkeep got to much for us .......... so what to do ??

hubby ended up whacking a few cracks in the bottom (hard work)

then we filled it with layers of soil from the garden (was large) contents of 2

large compost bins and a bale of straw let it all settle for a few weeks then planted a crab apple tree in the middle and flowers ended up looking realy nice

What a great idea and so innovative .. well done!

thank you Woman Happy  i bet its lovely now the tree would be a nice size Heart

You're right about that. I found a large-ish green (I think it's green, it needs a clean) glass ball.

I really don't remember how that got there. Smiley LOL

Probably a "decorative" piece.......ex fishing net float.

There you go MacGyver, bit of macrame therapy, while waiting for the pond to de-algae-fy.

What worries me is that I'm pretty sure I've got directions for making that kind of a net.

The things I find and keep, just in case... Smiley LOL
