The woman he made the comments about and who he mistakenly sent the message to has not only accepted his apology, from her comments on TV, it appears she finds it funny....and she won't be taking it any further. Good on her.
Mind you, she wouldn't have to do anything.....he has come across as a complete twit all by himself. ![]()
Another twit however is Penny Wong who apparently thought making a mountain our of a molehill with a public statement about the incident was a good idea. Sheeesh.
I agree with the 'victim' - it was funny. And frankly as he'll have a few problems living it down for weeks, why would she need to take it further? How often have people been at the receiving end of embarrassing emails they weren't meant to see....or, worse, have sent them? It's a common problem in an electronic age.

The fact that the journalist did not take an offense is NOT the point. The point is the mentality of the people we appointed to run our country. Making fun of the fact that people live on islands that are being fast inundated, and these people have nowhere to go, and calling journalist f...... mad witch for criticizing Jamie Briggs for "behaving so inappropriately" towards a woman that he had to resign, is not the behaviour we should tolerate.

Why can't women just go about their work without risk of harassment, whether they be public servants, newspaper columnists or TV sports reporters?
