why would anyone's outrage be 'confected'?
Hard to say. Perhaps a chance to get on TV or have your photo appear in the paper. Remember this:
Vigils held in Sydney for Bali duo Sukumaran and Chan before execution
About 300 people gathered on Monday night to hold a candlelight vigil for Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan in their home city of Sydney one day before the Bali nine duo were to be executed.
The crowd huddled together at Blues Point Reserve, North Sydney, in front of a temporary monument of 15,000 flowers donated by Amnesty International supporters that spelt out Keep Hope Alive as a news helicopter hovered overhead.
[...]
and this:
'Bring our boys home,' celebrities tell PM
Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has defended Tony Abbott after he was told to show "some balls" over the impending execution of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.
A group of celebrities, which include well-known actors Geoffrey Rush, Joel Edgerton and Guy Pearce, has released a video urging the prime minister to do more to save the Bali Nine ringleaders from a firing squad.
Another actor Brendan Cowell tells Mr Abbott to show "some balls".
"Tony, if you have any courage and compassion get over to Indonesia and bring these two boys home," he says.

What stopped Mr Rush and crew from lodging a protest about the impending deaths of 47 people? Was he busy learning his lines for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Who Gives a Toss"?

We are outraged that non-christian people are demanding that we change our ways and laws.
Why do some people think we can demand the same of another country???

I wouldn't want to change our ways and laws, but I don't believe execution is right in any country- too many mistakes have been made

sorry, i thought you would have been
familiar with the phrase and attributed
it to bolt as a joke (which would have
been funny)
its been around for years and often
used in question time.
it basically means fake outrage.
