I don't know Laney.. Sometimes you just have to shake your head and wonder what is wrong with some people.
yes hot here today, but it wasn't too bad. I see you have yet another serious bushfire burning out of control over in WA

Difficult to keep up with them all Deb (fires that is) - so many alerts and warnings and now some areas have storm warnings too ![]()
On the other issue - all I wonder about is the emptiness of their lives that they need to constantly re-create themselves. Sad I suppose but the saying about reaping what you sow comes to mind so no - I don't feel sorry for them at all.

It is all smoke hazy here from fires..............nothing like the WA ones though.
I knocked off early today...................not sure what I do wrong but my hands hurt when I paint...............hubby says I must hold the brush too tight...........then how come I still end up with so much darn paint on me.
Gee the school holidays seem to have gone quickly this time..............6 weeks usually seems to take forever.........(when I have 5 of them to look after anyway)..............but this year it seems to have flown by..............only just over 2 weeks left.
I see that using numerous ID's has finally come home to roost.

Hi folks.
Laney, did you hear the historic Reef Hotel in bunbury went up in flames yesterday morning? Lot's of rumours flying round because it had been mostly derelict for years. The new owners who bought it two years ago were said to be doing renovations with and eye to reopening in a couple of weeks. The first floor, where the fre started and which ws gutted, housed the Three Monkeys Nightclub and a new pizza bar. - these venues were already up and running, but acording to my son - who is a chef and gets to hear all the goss - they were both running at a losss and the pizza shop had been closed all weekend due to "electrical problems." But who knows? I don't think I've ever been inside the place so I'll await further confirmed news before making judgements. It's a shame though as it was one of the oldest buildings in Bunbury - built 120 years ago.

Hi TGSE
When I heard about that I was reminded about the National in Freo which suffered a similar fire just before the renovations were complete (attributed to squatters who lit a fire in there) and also the Guildford Hotel in Guildford ..... similar situation.
The National has been rebuilt now and is doing a roaring trade I believe but the Guildford Hotel is still the subject of disputation. Sad because she was the grand old dame of Guildford and a beautiful building.
There was another old hotel down on Rockingham Road around Hammy Hill I think - destroyed by fire recently too - forgotten the name of it.
Just waiting for a similar 'event' at the Royal George Hotel in East Freo. It is now 'owned' by the National Trust and is almost derelict. It is in the George Street precinct there and was a really beautiful place - too sad to see it go to rack and ruin.
Makes you wonder doesn't it ![]()

I remember the Guildford Hotel well - used to drive past it often on the way to Perth when we lived in Koongamia. It's an absolute scandal that matters have been allowed to drag on for so long.

Ohhhhhh Greenmount ![]()
Hated driving down from Mundaring being tailgated by B-doubles through Glen Forrest trying to intimidate me to go faster - used to enjoy passing them on Greenmount but it was always a relief to get down to the bottom and well away from them lol
