Yep and guess what now the dentist is saying they are all cracked and need replacing one with a crown apparently which alone is 1500 dollars, let alone the cost of more fillings, money I do not have....... Sigh 😞 Trying to fork out for OH's MRI scans is hard enough... Just what I needed not!!!

sometimes one has to augment knowledge for a considered personal opinion by reading between the lines of dogma and also drawing upon seemingly disparate facts
so add :
I seem the recall that 50% is mercury metal
waste amalgam can not be dumped into the environment - your little filling is to dangerous for the vast wild ecology
Older sharks can not be legally sold for human consumption due to accumulated mercury toxicity .
Tuna fish are not to be eating in great quantities due to the same reason
A device called the jorome meter can indicate mercury vapour in a persons mouth - results not encouraging
Further reading : research papers as listed

Just that personally I would prefer to take my chances with synthetic fillings rather than heavy metals

Amalgam safe!!!!!!!! WTH!
Mercury is a TOXIC metal!!!!!!!!!!
Even the French dentists that invented the stuff/procedure issued grave cautions about it's use!
Dentists should know better! After all, didn't they go to medical school?
One would expect they learnt about poisons.
If a dentists tosses an amalgam filling or ANY part of it in the trash, they are liable for large fines for polluting the environment.
What about polluting someones body for the rest of their life?
