I used 2 jars of water.....saves changing water all the time....and laid an old towel underneath the painting to brush the water off on, if need be......the more water you have on your brush the paler the colour...also you need a big wide brush for painting backgrounds (with lots of water) a medium size one, and a very fine one for outlining and fine work like eyes etc.  acrylics and water colours i.e.  don't skimp on brushes...buy the best you can afford.

Haha, here's another I found in my instagram pics. It's a mask I made for an exhibition on 'handmade' things. I use to make lampshades out of chicken wire, woven wire and old beads but they could be quite time consuming, I think back now though and I sold most of them.

moonlight.....I'd try acrylics first..pastels are very messy and need a large amount of expertise...something to work up to...acrylics dry very quickly too so be careful of that...that's part of their appeal, unlike oils which take forever to dry..use some masking tape to tie the paper down, as the edges will curl when it gets wet, which can be very frustrating. Happy painting.

Thanks, Beani ... I can't crochet.

I tried drawing Edward ... it was awful!!!!  Then I tried a caricature and I liked that better.

I think I'll get on with my knitting :^O

Moonlight, I like using separate brushes and washing them all after I've finished.  I'm lazy and sometimes clumsy ... and I have LOTS of brushes.

Katy I just learned ONE stitch.. cant do the others, too difficult. I like to knit but can only do scarves... LOL. I am hopeless.

I cant draw or paint but I like to take photos.

Do photos count?

Photobucket

or buy an already framed 'canvas' especially made for acrylics...at most art supply places.

Maybe those that are interested could do an art challenge someone chooses a 'prompt' and then you could all interpret it your own way in any medium, just a challenge to yourself to tap into your creativity and share with others on the same journey.

At the moment I'm a bit sucked into the photo a day thing on instagram. There is a prompt for every day of the month and it's great to see how everyone interprets that.

Can we have a look? Tas, can we see your "jello" attempt too? 🙂

Thanks for the replies regarding the paint. I think it is probably more work and mess than I am ready for at this stage, so I will stick to pencil drawings for now.

I withdraw from the greencat/DDB challenge. 🙂
