It's not about being for or against. The simple fact is that it is beneficial to be part of large group. For countries to be dropping out of EU is just as intelligent as if parts of Australia would decide to separate. Do you think that independent Tassie would be better off?
------------------------------
Whether it is beneficial or not is debatable. In some ways it may be, in others not.
There is such a thing as too big & that can apply to companies as well as associations such as EU
But regardless, people are entitled to choose.
Being part of a bigger group by force is not a good thing.
I saw another post about how those who voted to exit were older & it said they were 'racially motivated'.
I am not sure why young voters should be considered any more relevant than older voters. Not sure why the north of England should be considered less relevant than the south.
And would like to know why it is labelled as racist to want autonomy over immigration and welfare policies.
I read this on another forum.
Prime Minister resigned. The £ plummeted. The FTSE 100 lost significant ground. But then the £ rallied past February levels, and the FTSE closed on a weekly high: 2.4% up on last Friday, its best performance in 4 months.
President Obama decided we wouldn't be at the 'back of the queue' after all and that our 'special relationship' was still strong.
The French President confirmed the Le Touquet agreement would stay in place.
The President of the European Commission stated Brexit negations would be 'orderly' and stressed the UK would continue to be a 'close partner' of the EU.
A big bank denied reports it would shift 2,000 staff overseas.
The CBI, vehemently anti-Brexit during the referendum campaign, stated British business was resilient and would adapt. Several countries outside the EU stated they wished to begin bi-lateral trade talks with the UK immediately.
If this was the predicted apocalypse, well, it was a very British one. It was all over by teatime. Not a bad first day of freedom.

A few things I find interesting:
Britain was sending 350 mil Quid a week to the EU. A WEEK!!! For what?
So Nigel Farage said it'd go to their NHS. Now it may not. So the only reason over half the population on Britain voted to leave the UK is because Nigel Farage said so?
I'm sure there were many, other, valid reasons to vote Exit.
At least Mr Farage had the guts and transparency to come out and admit he'd make a mistake about that, and not try to hide it away under a pile of excuses and distraction.
How does wanting to have control over your own country's immigration regulations and policies make you racist?

Hiya Icy.
Nigel Farage comes in for a lot of stick from the old boys of Westminster, and members of the public. But he's the only MP to tell it like it is. You can bet if Farage says it, it's true. Never one to mince his words, he is a brilliant orator. His speeches - which can be found on YT and other sites - are barnstorming classics, some of these actually in the EU chambers, and in front of the delegates. He knows the EU like the back of his hand, and joined these bureaucratic little Tin Gods in 1999, spending all of this time railing against them....and in doing so, was actually talking himself out of a job !
Also to be fair, the £350 million had nothing to do with him. This was the slogan of the Brexits (Boris Johnson), which Nigel wasn't part of. He has his own party, which is UKIP.

The whole exit campaign was initiated by the racists, fascists, white supremacy groups. When people blame perceived or real problems on immigrants, and use arguments that are not true it is motivated by racism. ,
The reason people are asking for another poll is that already some of the main reasons people voted EXIT are unraveling in a big way. I have seen people on TV saying they voted yes because the believed what Farage said and now they see much of it is not true.
Brits have a long history taking over other countries and even now feel entitled to live wherever they wish, but they do not want people from other countries in UK. You either have free trade and free movement of people both ways or not at all. There was a time when business trading with other countries had to pay both export and import duty; it was cumbersome and expensive , and slowed everything down.

A favourite eurosceptic myth is that Britain sends £350 million a week or £55 million a day to Brussels. Nigel Farage, Daniel Hannan, Priti Patel and Vote Leave are just some of the people and organisations that have spouted these inaccurate figures.
Until now, they have been able to hide behind Full Fact, the fact-checking website. It produced research in 2014 saying ‘it’s reasonable to describe £55 million as our ‘membership fee’, but it ignores the fact that we get money back as well”. If you put £55 million a day into Google, its research is the top result. But, after InFacts pointed out errors in its calculation, Full Fact corrected their piece.
In 2015, Britain actually sent £250 million a week to the EU. After accounting for the money the Brussels sent back to Britain and EU spending we include in our foreign aid target, the net cost was £120 million a week or £17 million a day. Per person, that’s 26p a day – or half the price of a Mars bar.
