So, i have my Aunt (my mums sister on facebook).
She reads my message on there saying that Mum is sick again and messages me asking whats wrong with her.
This Aunt (along with my other 2 aunts) live in the UK and they never ev er ring dad to ask how Mum is.
So, i write back that Mum is very sick and that her kidneys and liver are failing.
She writes back saying
"no disrespect but it would proberly be a blessing. it up set me going to see her when me and sue were there in feb of this year. i think i just want to remember her the way she was before the accident. she will never be like she was and i feel she is a vegetable its horrible to think of her that way but i love her to bits and it hurts to see her that way. its not fair why did it have to happen to a great sister. sorry amy but it really does up set me. this is making me cry just writing this"
I have written this back. Do you think its to harsh? I feel really angry right now and have had to hold myself back from really going off
I hear what you are saying but i was disappointed in the small amount of time you spent with Mum while you and Sue were here. Im also very angry about the small amount of time Nan spends up with Mum.
Yes, its hard to see her like that and yes, its upsetting but, dont you think its hard and upsetting for Dad and Mandy as well?
Yet, they manage to go and see Mum every day.
Dad has no life anymore. He is with Mum from 7am till 7pm everyday.
That is not easy for him. Seeing his wife like that is killing him. But he still does it.
When i go to Dubbo, i sit with Mum everyday. Do you think thats easy for me? Shes' my mother. I hate the way she is now, but theres nothing i can do about it.
Yes, i do think it would be better for her to pass on now, but until she does, we have to deal with what we have of her.
Do you think we dont cry about her? I still cry near everyday. I miss my Mum.
You, Sue and Toni are over there and none of you ever ring Dad to ask how she is.
Are any of you going to bother sending him a Chrissy card this year because he has sent you all one every year since the accident and has had none in return.
He is your sisters husband and whether you like him or not, he is the one who sits and talks to your sister EVERY DAY. He is the one who takes her for walks outside, he is the one who helps her, he goes home everyday to an empty house.
Life goes on for you all, but it hasnt gone on for Dad. His life was over the day Mum was hit. His life now revolves around sitting with Mum everyday.
Perhaps, between you, Sue and Toni, maybe you could ring him once a month to say hello and to ask him how Mum is.
Once a month isnt a lot to show you care.
You are probably angry with me after reading all that. Feel free to read it to Sue and Toni. I hope that once you get past the anger, you will re read it for how i mean it and thats just to ask that you get over your issues with Dad and take a small amount of time to show him some thanks for how he looks after your sister.
