oh, ok, I see.
I don't care why people may have a religious belief or not. deep losses, family tragedies, whatever.
Life happens to people and sometimes it is tragic and entails loss. But that is exactly what life is all about. it's the same for you as it is for me as it was for the late Mr Packer who needed to buy a kidney from an employee in order to live a few more years or so.
Religious beliefs are really no more nor less than the belief in arbitrarily made up sky-fairy stories.
So, I shouldn't be expressing my opinion here? It's the "wrong place"?
It is not the same for you as it is for me and others. We are all individuals, with different lives, different brains, different pain, different levels of strength, different weaknesses and different capacities to endure. Maybe we are not as together as you and have not worked it all out. This place is intended to have a Community Spirit and I would have hoped that you do care. But you don't so I think you need to work out if this is the "wrong place". It's a shame we've had to have this clash, it wasn't my original intention.

I do care. it's the very reason I post here at all. because I care. it's not necessary that everyone agree with what I say.
I have a "community spirit" it's just that my community might not always agree with what your community thinks is the acceptable way to behave and think.

But dying sucks. Whether it is your own impending death or the death of say your child or parent, death is frightening. Much easier to die believing that there might be an afterlife rather than facing the prospect of rotting away in the ground. And so much less painful to believe that you might one day be reunited with a precious child you have lost. As notforsale said, where's the harm? Not everything can ever intellectualised.

Well said NFS. I am not in the least religious but the sanctimonious pedantics like Dawkins and Joh do nothing to promote harmony or love or "community" in this world. Good luck if the argument continues because I don't think, ever in their lives, these people know how to say "I was wr...I was wr..."

This most definitely is the "right" place for him and he has as much right to be here as the next person. It would be a much duller place without him.
