We didn't have any 'viritors' either, Kopes. I think nowadays more people decide to play it safe and have a party instead.

We actually went out for dinner and didn't get back until after 9pm - but we still got a couple of teens trying their luck.

They only got apples and pears!!!LOL . Started giving fruit instead of lollies a few years ago.

They were quite happy with fruit and wished me a nice night.

Every year there seems to be more more Halloween paraphenalia in the shops and it is rather commercial, but the kids love it and so do some of the parents. It doesn't bother me if that's what they want to do

We had some gorgeous little monsters turn up in, what looked like, home made costumes complete with face paint. Their parents were happily watching them from the end of our front path.  Then some older "tweens" arrived a bit later.

They were all unfailingly polite, saying please and thank you. I even had to tell one little fellow that it was ok, he could have more than one lollie if he wanted to Heart

I turned the porch light off at about 8 o'clock and we didn't have any more ghoulish visitors after that.

Harmless fun and aa opportunity for our community to interact. That can't be a bad thing.
