I just gotta ask you though because I'm sure no one else will . . . .  just what did your nephew do to warrant "14 years" ?

If I had a rellie who went down for 14 yrs, I'm not so sure I'd want to see him back again amongst my family.

to "warrant" = to earn or to deserve, in the sense that I used it.

And hey, if you post about the subject of your nephew on a public chat board for all the world to see and tease us with a half-told story then you gotta expect a few questions. I'm sure that others want to know too.

and . . . I feel I know you a bit (from your posts) even if you don't know me. How's the quitting smoking going? I know how hard it is to give up and I hope you were successful.

and . . . I was stating the hope that your nephew doesn't come home a hero and be a role model for other kids who might want to be just like him and do something to risk earning some lengthy jail time by copying him.

(and if they do, then that's the time for you to be their model and set them straight.)

How is it that perfectly clear posts on this board can sometimes be taken so wrongly?  it's ok, I don't expect an answer to that, it's just something I puzzle over from time to time.
