Hi again, i dont think the economy downturn from overseas has really hit us yet however,with a bit of luck,we may not see the full extent.
I hope your sales continue to grow,the chinese economy will be ok,hopefully but who knows as they are a funny breed

Hi all,
Margo, local markets here were just dead dead dead also, considering school hols and long weekends. Accommodation bookings were down (tourist town) and generally people just not spending. It's quite depressing. Thank god I don't have the worry of a B&M shop anymore.
Re Paddy's market, recently visited it for the first time, was very surprised by the number of chinese products and sellers and buyers. Was sad to see wallaby skins being sold by chinese.

Afternoon to alll NSWites.
Yes we are definitely in the doldrums as far as tourism goes for some reason and can only hope it returns quickly.
I assume it is because of our high$ but people still want to get away.
Its a lovely day here ,around 22c however its one of the few times i have i have been out of bed since Tuesday due to medications,but im great and fighting fit.
Hope all are well and stay safe ok;-)

Retail is very poor at present. I am just covering my expenses but not making an income. According to some, that's better than what many are doing so I should consider myself lucky. Ecommerce has been my saviour!

I hope at least your expenses are met Margo. Shame about the value of your stalls but it sounds like they were quite inflated at one time.

I think the Chinese economy is better than what most people think. With such heavy reliance on their manufacturing, I doubt they are going under. It's the poorly paid workers who are a concern. There seems to be a real obvious divide betwen rich and poor over there. At least in Australia, it's more of a graduated rise.

I think the Chinese sellers here,both EBay and market stalls are leading a far more different lifestyle to us and can survive on minimal margins due to their lack of what we regard as necessary margins and requirements.
I am not meaning to be racist but its a fact of life
