I can honestly say that my Kindle is the best Chistmas present i have ever bought myself received.

I cant find the menu on my kindle and I only have half a screen

Just go my first empty battery message and am charging kindle now.

So it stayed charged for 8 days.

Thats not bad considering im reading it from between 2 to 4 hours a day

You could try resetting the Kindle.

You can email customer service - you usually get a reply overnight

A friend of mine had problems with their kindle and they actually rang her and talked her thru the problem and answer

If you email them - there is an option for amazon customer service to ring you
