Tan I hope it all goes well, I think we all started to believe the little bloke was invincible. Will the dialysis make a difference to his feeding? and will he be better in general?

TAnia do the doctors think all of his sickness is due to his blood chemistry really going off the wall?? Or was it due to viruses?

I know a lot of adults start dialysis not because their creatinine is too high but their urea...whioch causes the vomiting etc....

Puddle in the last 6th mths the creatine & urea have been rising atm creatine sits @ 270 and urea is high......
In the interest of Ashton's health it is better to start the ball rolling now then wait until he gets worse over the next few mths......the blood test @ 9am tomorrow will tell us if things are ok or worse.

Sorry Tania I wasn't questioning starting dialysis I have just noticed that Ashton has had a lot of gastro- type illnesses over the last few month. I know some of them were related to high temps and needed anitbiotics, but I just wondered if the last couple could have been attributed to his kidney problems?

Much better to start sooner than later....particularly if he is looking at a transplant in the near future.

Thinking of you all and I hope tomorrow's tests go well.

I know Puddle 🙂

Prolly easier to pick up germs/viruses...... when we are out I'm always wiping his fingers n hands n face:-) wipes n alcohol sanitizer are used alot.

Dr just rang I have to go pick up a scripted dose of potassium from the hospital...sigh I took the last bottle I had out at home 😞 doing heaps of km to n from the hospital...will have to fill up with diesel before we head home.

I get a bit carried away sometimes...if I ever ask something you don't want to answer just tell me...I won't be offended;-)

Crossed fingers for the results and for the dialysis access surgery...:-x

After reading MissLinda's post and reflecting back over the last few years.....Ashton really is a most remarkable young boy. Remembering the first thread after his birth and all the CWers praying for him to survive his first few day...weeks...months....

Now here he is getting his first big boy haircut!

His family is pretty amazing too!

Much easier to add potassium than to get rid of it Tania!:-x
