you cant stop progress.

was a time evolution was not taught in schools as it was deemed 'god' created everything.

some still believe in god, even though pretty much everything we know today disproves that idea.

but hey, if someone feels good beleiving in a being you cant see, cant have a conversation with and seems to like killing his most ardent followers, i dont mind, just dont force that belief on me.

So you think it is OK for religious based schools to be forced to teach things that are in direct contravention of their beliefs?

I believe that the parents at any school should have some input into the curriculum, especially when it involves religion and religious beliefs.

i believe truth should be taught in all govt paid for schools.

i believe private schools should teach whatever they like (within reason)

and they should be 'private' meaning no govt funding.

same with religeous schools.

if they accept my tax money then they teach my truth.

not saying everything taught by religous people is wrong or bad, just some of it.

but if someone is mentally chalenged and cant think forthemselves and need someone else to tell them what to believe then by all means go to a school who tells you 'god' did it all. does it all.

like during a god created catastrophy killing all the people in that church who trusted god and were in his house of worship asking for devine protection. to which their wonderful god replied, ah,nup, church fall down.

I pay taxes - what about ' my truth '.

oh, and while we are discussing god

did god not create gay people?

did not god create the 'progressives' who teach gay sex to kids?

funny how god creates everything but then godly people complain that these things are....well just that they "ARE"

why not hop down to the local god contact zone (the church) and tell him 'hey god, stop making gay people!'

So you think children as young as 4 years old should be exposed to a s3x education that is controversial at the very least.

As a mother and grandmother I think that at that age they are far too young for that.....it should not be compulsory teaching until high school although if the parents are OK with it maybe there could be optional classes in the lower grades.

I haven't so far read a discussion of God.

I think 4 yr olds are too young for any kind of sxx education, gay or otherwise.

I’m sorry to say that a lot of what we are hearing  is going to or not happen is so much bulls..t. When all the accusations and opinions are examined, a clearer picture may emerge of the effect this will have on everyday life as we know it at present.

But I have noticed that in a lot of the NO to same sex marriage TV ads the big taboo word is marriage. This vote is about same sex marriage.

While there are heaps of red herrings and untruths thrown up about what parents or anyone will or will not have power over, a lot of these are individuals opinions and beliefs of what they have brought up to believe due to religious upbringing and beliefs and some just personal opinions or bias. The talk of a loss of personal rights of expressions of beliefs because people of the same sex can get married would have to be one of the biggedt cons of all time

Sorry, but it is a fact that if the Yes vote gets through there are going to be a lot of things taught in the schools that are very controversial.

Personally I think Yes is the right way to vote, but it does open a can of worms in the education system as well as in religions which find it abhorrent.

I think there are going to have to be a lot of safeguards in the Bill before it is introduced into Parliament or it will not get through, no matter what this postal vote indicates.
