I think Rick was at Forresters in Paris.. The other guys contract was probably up and they couldn't just have old Rick one day and then New Rick the next day, so they had to send him on a holiday ..

I love it in shows that change actors, when they make in jokes about a new actor playing the character.. The lines in Roseanne about the Becky changes were brilliant..
