i found another product, a spray on bandage, but it doesnt appear available from aussie sellers and as its a spray i dont think it would be allowed to be imported

The Vetwrap is a good item to have on hand for both yourself and the animals.   Fom memory there is minimal difference beteen the locally produced version and the overseas (Chinese) version except the price....we always bought the cheaper one.

As this was long before the days of ebay I would say the difference now will be in the time taken to arrive here.  It would not bother me at all.   Do you have a Saddlery near to you or a Produce Merchant

As for the spray bandage.....it has been available here for some years although it was/is quite expensive.  I have not bought it for years but it is still available at the Chemist Warehouse (Elastoplast brand).

I was advised not to use it on the animals as they tend to lick anything stuck to their skin/fur.  As it is waterproof once it is dry it is not ideal for animals to ingest.

I have only ever seen it used once by a Vet  and that was on a horse's leg and it was then covered by vetwrap.

Supercoat is used by the Army for their dogs.  SIL used to bring it home for his retired bomb detector dog.

supercoat has been Foos Dry food for years and years. it may be fine, but i'm shifting to advanced to see if it helps.

he had his first meal of it tonight, presoftened, no complaints so far.

i'm not expecting miracles, but have my fingers crossed the diet change improves his weight.

it may end up he has some other problem not discovered yet. fingers crossed he doesnt.
