I was coming back up the big road when I saw the rain falling over the Western hills.
Curtains of grey, ribbon curtains... it's always hard to judge where they'll fall, or not...
The birds came about three... And the rain came a half hour later, ha ha.
Most of them decided, noisily, that it was an early night kind of day but one or two lingered...
One set himself up by the back door and outdid any junk mail I've ever read - "You've been specially selected! This is a limited time offer! Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to feed me before the rain gets too heavy! Time is limited! Don't miss the opportunity to take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity!:, ha ha
Well, he tried, ha ha.
It's a good, wide stretch of space under the pergola, certainly wide enough for me to walk down and have a cockatoo fly past me (and sometimes clip me with a wing tip because apparently it's very funny to do that, ha ha).
I was just a little bit surprised when one of them decided that the hood on my jacket, resting on my back, looked like a good perch...
I was a little bit more surprised when the bird in question climbed up my back and onto my shoulder...
I wasn't entirely surprised that the bird wanted me to stop in front of some other birds, and feed it from the seed container...
If you're going to show off, you might as well show off in a big way, ha ha.
"Look at me! Look at me! I'm Really important! I'm standing on his shoulder and he's feeding me! Nyah! Nyah! Nyah!! I'm the King of the castle!... Nyah, Nyah!", ha ha.
