There was a sudden flash of blue in the undergrowth!
"Hello, Dad wren", I said...
Then, moments later, a flash of blue on the fence...!
"Hello Dad wren", I said, again, then looked down at the undergrowth and said, correcting myself, "Hello, Junior wren, I told you it'd only be a matter of a couple of days and I wouldn't be able to tell you two apart...", ha ha.
"Don't be silly", said Junior wren... "I'm wearing my grey cardigan and matching grey cap...".
He is, too, and it's a very fetching look, ha ha.
Mum wren has decided to stick with brown - "It blends in with everything...", ha ha.

There are two currawongs, both blind in one eye.
One on the left, one on the right.
Sooner or later they'll both be in the garden at the same time...
Both on the same bridge...
Both facing in the same direction...
Blind side facing blind side...
They'll turn and see each other and say "Oh! I didn't see you there! Ha ha!".
And knowing my luck I'll be somewhere else, and I'll miss one of Natures comedy moments... ha ha.

"There's some squeaking going on out the front...".
"I'm on Mum's back because it's safer...".
"Mum's having something to eat...".
"I brought this piece of bread with me so that I could have something to eat, too...".
Yes, Three, I can see that... ha ha.
Just a glimpse into the exciting times in the life of a young possum... ha ha.

There's a currawong that's been coming into the garden over the last couple of days, that's missing a leg...
There have been funny moments...
It's sitting on the ground, with some bread within easy reach of it, picking up pieces here and there....
I threw some more bread to it, but not wanting to pelt the bird with bread, I threw it a little way in front of it...
It looked at me as if to say "Nice one... throw the bread just where it's out of reach...", ha ha.
There's no pleasing them, sometimes... ha ha.

Bread head... ha ha.
The wattlebird isn't quite up to that, yet... ha ha.
He's good, though...
I put a slice of bread down where he could see it, and I knew he could see it - his little eyes had grown to the size of saucers... ha ha.
As he flew over, I pinched the middle of the slice and pulled the bread up a bit, saying to him "This bit's really nice, it's really soft...".
In true wattlebird fashion he paid me no attention whatsoever, ha ha.
He landed next to the slice and began tearing pieces of crust off it, completely ignoring the bit in the middle... ha ha.
Did I say there's no pleasing them? ha ha.
Well, not quite... There's pleasing them, but it has to be on their terms, ha ha.
