Meat & Mash.jpg

Reminded me of an incident at a Bunnings store years ago when they would also do bacon & egg.

The guy cooking had said a couple of times, "Vegetarian Bacon"

Wifey questioned him about it, and the guy said,

well it was when it was in the pen Smiley LOL

PIGS ARE VEGETARIANFALSE! Pigs are, in fact, omnivores. They are opportunistic and will eat whatever is available and appeals to them, including what they can catch or carrion. Domestic pigs have been known to snatch and eat poultry and small animals.

Maybe the ones he had were raised on a celery only diet.

The compost bin is a great, hulking thing, a sort of upturned bucket with a lid on top and little sliding doors at the bottom...

As the years have passed, veggie scraps and leaves and who knows what else, ha ha, has slowly turned into high quality potting mix through the miracle of composting... ha ha...

Anyway, it's getting a bit full, so I thought I'd slide the little door open and try to make some room...

That's about the time that it occurred to me that having a couple of buckets and a trowel would make life easier... ha ha.

So I toddled off to find them...

And having found them, I duly toddled back... ha ha...

To find...

(Play dramatic music... ha ha)...

Spot, the blackbird, who had discovered the gaping hole in the side of the compost bin and was having a great time tunneling to the other side...

Have I mentioned that the garden is a birds' adventure playground? ha ha...

It reminds me of the time that I bought some succulents in little pots and planted them in the garden...

It was a well drained, sunny spot and they looked really good there...

For about two days, until the birds ate the lot, ha ha...

They couldn't see what was wrong... after all, isn't everything I do for them? ha ha...

🙂

Simple toys, but something to pass the time...

The pecking cockatoos...

Hold one stick still and move the other stick back and forth, horizontally, and it looks like they're taking turns at pecking.

They probably look better sitting on top of a bag of bird seed for the true authentic birds feeding effect... ha ha...

One of these days I'll sit down and make a single bird version...

While I'm about it I'll get some new white paint as the stuff I'm using at the moment is so watery that it takes seven coats to do the job of three...

If I've only got time to put on one coat a day, the painting side of the project drags on seemingly forever... ha ha...
