Fancy trekking across Tibet naked. Wouldn't it be a bit cold? I'm surprised that didn't raise more eyebrows in that era than wearing an unconventional green jacket.

The Gregory Peck character in Guns of Navarone was named after Mallory.
And the famous British General Orde Wingate used to conduct his staff meetings in the nude.
(which gives a whole new meaning to staff meeting).
But he was a certifiable loony.
