Additional to the list of things I couldn't have imagined ever seeing, but I'm glad that I did... ha ha.
Midweek, the blue wren decided to have a bath...
He stood on the edge of the birdbath and then jumped in...
And stood there, in the water, for a moment....
He turned to the right, then to the left, and jumped out, back onto the rim of the birdbath...
But it didn't end there... ha ha...
He paused a moment, then jumped back in and began flapping his wings vigorously, sending a spray of water up into the air...
And making a buzzing noise with his wings, like an old Motorola pager, ha ha...
Then, as quick as he'd jumped in, he jumped out again and stood there on the edge of the birdbath, looking very happy with himself... ha ha...
But he was not to be outdone...
A couple of evenings later he was perched on the grape vine that drapes itself over the fence...
Suddenly, startlingly suddenly, he leapt straight up, about four feet, and caught a flying insect before alighting gracefully back on the grape vine...
It was incredible... suddenly he shot up into the air, then was back on the branch as though nothing had happened... ha ha...
