I've never understood vandalism.
I've had three cars vandalized over the years.
One twice.
Luckily one time was while I was at work and the boarding student that did it bragged to another boarder and his mum had to pay for the damage

I just hope that when all this outpouring of patriotism leads to the restoration of the statue something will be done about the scungy water in the pond.....and keep it clean in the future.

I think, for what it's worth, that the guy did something stupid, and that he also did something brave...
Knocking over a statue isn't the cleverest move, but handing yourself in to the coppers, not really knowing if they'll stick you in the cells or just give you a stern talking to takes a bit of guts.
Good on him for being honest.
Now it's in the hands of the judiciary, and they'll decide what they think of what he did, and act accordingly.
🙂
