The $50 is the most counterfeited.

Hence the reason for it being released before the $20 and the one to be changed out faster.

That's interesting. Where are the notes being counterfeited and how are those people getting access to the paper or whatever it is?

I was reading about American notes. Apparently they are pretty easy to copy as US is loathe to change the notes as they don't want to undermine confidence in their dollar. But because the paper is difficult to get hold of, most counterfeited US notes are held outside the US.

Or so i read.

Yeah, most foreign US dollars are counterfeit

They are accomplished people that counterfeit the $50
Some are really awful, printed on paper and shouldn't fool anyone, so they are just using a colour photocopier
It's been a long time since I saw a paper counterfeit polymer note on the news

Who knows who does this
Skilled people that obviously haven't been able to secure employment that can take full advantage of those skills

I haven't seen any new $50's lately
I don't get much money but I withdraw the lot as soon as it goes in my account
After the exchange burned down in Warrnambool wiping out all communications I like to have cash in my little Bank of Melbourne safe money box
