I gave the birds an afternoon snack because they'd gathered under the pergola and I could no longer see the ground for birds... ha ha
The old man bird felt that his safety was in jeopardy, so he sought shelter from the seething mass...
He came and stood between my feet... ha ha.
"Don't think this means I like you, I just don't want to be squashed by them..."... ha ha.
The hungry horde were both hungry, and a horde this afternoon...
All I have to do now is convince them that Summer Time, daylight saving, means the clocks go Forward one hour...
What was 4, in the Winter, becomes 5, now... and not What was 4 in the Winter becomes 3, now... ha ha...
A week ago I would have said, going on past experience, that about now the old man bird would be acknowledging me, but would still be a little shy.
I think his taking shelter between my feet was more a matter of necessity than an expression of his absolute trust and faith in me, ha ha....
I'll give it another half hour or so and then I'll go out and see if he scowls at me and shuffles away...
If he does, I'll know where I stand with him, so to speak, ha ha...
🙂

Mart, I wondered what they actually put in meat pies, I heard people say I saw what they put in them and would never touch another one.
I'd love me a pie, In QLD I thought they were pretty good. When visiting NZ I thought they were one of best pies I ever tasted.
Signatures suck.

Look most bakeries do the right thing but a good friend of mine worked for a large establishment that used very old skinny sheep and the pies aren't called Mutton pies so that's misrepresentation
Also be wary of pies that are very salty because salt is used on rotten meat to cover the taste.
I when I lived in Adelaide enjoyed a certain brand of pie until it became very salty because I believe they were using bad meat.
The modern meat pie is plumped up with very thick gravy now but if you find a good meaty pie that isn't full of salt I think you're safe
