It's funny ( almost ) that the local COVID testing clinic suggested
that I have 2 tests because the swab was 75% accurate.
Our lives are in the hands of these 'experts'.
When you strip it all down, if nasal swabbing is not 100% accurate
then why not take the lightning fast and super cheap alternative test out for a run.
The cynic in me is whispering
"Maybe the pathology labs don't want to miss out on $200.00+ nasal swab testing".
I volunteered for the test , early days , after i stupidly wore a mask publicly , rural logic then assuming i was infected , anyhow the test was nasal swab version . They took 2 samples
I had a reputation for presenting publically seemingly half dead - but was not coronavirus , i had just suddenly become employed....

Work will do that to you. Especially if it's a different field to what you're used to.

..... and being bursting with health we can launch ourselves into innovative corona-world marketing and delivery ondemand enhancements to existing goods and services - with ongoing improved public health mitigation
August 2020 confirmed influenza cases 107 , last year 61,000 cases
"" Australia only had 107 flu cases last month, compared to 61,000 cases in August 2019. “This is virtually a non-season,” University of Melbourne professor of microbiology and immunology Ian Barr told CNN. “We’ve never seen numbers like this before.” Similarly, South Africa and the southern cone of South America did not experience flu seasons this year, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.""

That's the Queensland government's spin. It doesn't explain why there hasn't been a case in the ACT for over 2 months, nor that the nearest infection is 200+km from here.
It's all to do with the election. Nothing, or very little, to do with evidence-based policy.
In fact, this is the ACT government's directive re NSW residents - If you live nearby in NSW and work in the ACT, you can still go to work if you are considered an essential worker

I seem to remember back in the very early days of the Melbourne lockdown, there were people flying from Melbourne to Canberra and then on to Queensland and lying on their paperwork. Queensland had declared Melbourne, and later Sydney, hotspot but had to include ACT to close that loophole.

It's all political.
Morrison has been taking cheap shots at the Labor Premiers for some time now. Annastacia Palaszczuk and Gladys Berejiklian have been at each other's throats for months. Mark McGowan is in the PM's bad books and it seems everybody is going for Daniel Andrews' jugular. Do you really think politicians don't play politics? It was only a matter of time.
