I should have warned you. His other movie is more well known , Romper Stomper and I have not seen it in ages but it was very confronting.
Another movie from the same era which I would not reccomend was Bad Boy Bubby. Not sure what happened in the early mid 90"s but many bizzare movies came out that not many have heard of.

I actually could have been in Bad Boy Bubby except I was too lazy.
I was listening to the radio and they said if you want to be in a movie go to the Alberton Hotel at lunch time.
Stupidly I didn't go

I will have to watch Bad Boy Bubby again someday. Not your usual type of movie though.

I lived up the road in Woodville from where it was filmed in Port Adelaide.
Used to eat pizza in the pizza joint in the movie and buy fuel in the petrol station he robbed with the dead cat.
Take scrap metal to the Sims metal yard that's in the movie too.
Port Adelaide has changed enormously since then.
It was all derelict back then , now it's trendy and expensive with units everywhere.
So not only do I like the story but it feels very familiar
