The drug has been around for 70 years , patent expired , generic drug - no monopolised money in it - for coronavirus as described about need to also have enough biologically accessible zinc , as zinc deactivates the virus through the action of chloroquine on the virus - tests can be rigged for a negative result if test subjects are zinc deficient
This drug is used for malaria and lupus and other autoimmune diseases; it actually works by suppressing your immune system. It is used as last resort for very debilitating conditions. It is dangerous, it can do lot of damage including give you heart attack, and most studies show it is not effective for COVID19. Double the daily dose is fatal. Just because it has been used for 70 years does not make it safe.

Why?
The NYT reports that, "If hydroxychloroquine becomes an accepted treatment, several pharmaceutical companies stand to profit, including shareholders and senior executives with connections to the president. Mr. Trump himself has a small personal financial interest in Sanofi, the French drugmaker that makes Plaquenil, the brand-name version of hydroxychloroquine."
SOME SWEDISH HOSPITALS HAVE STOPPED USING CHLOROQUINE TO TREAT COVID-19 AFTER REPORTS OF SEVERE SIDE EFFECTS
Signatures suck.

@*kazumi*Well there is one doctor on public record who is active in successfully treating cases and who is vurnerable to malpractice law suits in litigation crazy America who clearly disagrees
So he claims. Sadly, others are not able to repeat such results. Everybody is hoping for cure and vaccine.
Yet another negative result

In meanwhile people suffering from terrible effects of their autoimmune diseases cannot get their medications.

As far as I know only people who reside in the same address can remain together. They also have to stay at that particular house, they cannot even go to their own holiday house with the members of their immediate family or alone. People have to stay at their primary residence.
So hiring holiday house is not on.

Dangerous ? can be .. That is why it is administered under doctor's supervision and can only be acquired via a script
Most synthisised drugs can be fatally overdosed and so is no arguement against use
Please quote your studies for my information that maybe useful
Also be useful if you actually viewed submitted data , rather than just stating irrelivent facts those context more alludes to an agenda ... let me guess , to protect the common person from starting to be tempted to seek unsanctioned drugs for self-medication ? To discourage signs of thinking for themselves ?

this is exactly why i posed the question
its a holiday rental
there are at least 5 cars there so far, that i could see.
they are not supposed to be here.
but all i can find is several 'rules' they may or may not be breaking.
they dont live here
so they took a trip that wasnt 'essential' to get here
there may be more than 10 of them, i doubt they are all related
i think the police should be notified, if these folk have done nothing wrong, fine.
well, i was outside doing the bin when 2 of the 4wheel drives from the rental went by full of people, there are still cars down there so they may or may not be coming back.
i'm sure phone calls are being made about this house.
so they came back
ive called the police and they are going to send a patrol out to 'have a chat' with these morons.

Actually, I did view what you posted, but one u-tube clip from some local TV station in the UsA, which contradicts every scientific paper and article I looked at, is not something I take seriouly. All the doctors I know are horrified at the thought of using this dangerous drug without real proof it works. The number one rule for doctors is do not harm.

Because of insurance issues and the risk of litigation - the US prez got the drug FAA limited approval , so Doctor's there are protected.
So how many cases now in China ?
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/32074550
as for Australia - oh no doctor , i am coughing up my lungs , am going blue as iI suffocate - but no , not Hydroxychoroquine , is not approevd !
