most people grow them in their gardens here in Melb over summer, but it's way too early for them yet. A salad just wouldn't be a salad without a tomato, I hope the prices drop soon.

Do they work? I LOVE avocado but they are so expensive I don't eat them that much, but I love them on toasted english muffins, guacamole, or on chicken burgers

They don't work any better than keeping them in an airtight container, or Vin's method of wrapping them in foil, Patch.
They're just a novelty really, but I like the look of it in my fridge, it amuses me.
"they are so expensive" - tell me about it! I bought them at nearly $3 each this week! But they're big ones 😄

I love avocado spread on hot toast with sliced tomato on top and lots of ground black pepper. Yum.
Nice added to a ham or chicken and salad sandwich too. I'm really not into kitchen gadgets but this one is one that I do actually use a lot. It's easy to wash up or it can go in the dishwasher.

I was wondering the other day how long a cut avocado will keep. One day, one week? I am thinking of using them as a spread.

Katy you can keep a cut avo for about a week, I'd say. All you have to do is cut the browned bit off the top. After a week - hmmm.

tomatoes? I found $1.00 in my purse, went and put a kilo of tomatoes on layby! I'll pick them up before xmas lol.....

they had dropped last week and now back up again.

btw, got my electricity bill, wasn't shocked, which was a pleasant suprise. actually it was down on this time last year....got rid of the spa. sorry to hijack the thread icy.
