I've got one and didn't find it any use at all.  It wasn't strong enough to cut through the avo.

I do, however, really like my egg slicer :-x

Dixo, I got mine in the QVB building in Sydney about two years ago.  I think from Victoria's Basement.  It's the Avanti brand and it's very strong with a good stumpy handle and very sharp.  There are some with a thin wire as a cutter but they look weak to me.  

Try googling Avanti Avocado Slicer, there's a few websites in Aus with them including ebay. 😉

It has side bits that scoop out the sliced avo. Very clever!

I have an avo saver. It keeps it fresh for a couple of days. I don't have to wrap it in plastic of anything else. I like it because I can stick it in my esky and it doesn't get so squashed!
