I keep the bird seed in a tupperware box..
I've got my thumb tucked over the edge of the box, with my hand underneath it to steady it, take the weight of it.
The old man bird is looking decidedly interested, so I put the box down for him...
When I say "Decidedly interested", he's already bitten my foot, to make sure he has my attention, ha ha...
Anyway, he clambers onto the side of the box, reached across it and bites my thumb...
"I'm not interested in seed... I want bread!".
Okay, bread he gets... ha ha...
At his age, there is no time left for arguments, ha ha...
There is no time...
A month from now, he could be gone.
So I, we, make the best of what we have.
