I never signed on for the gift cards, so it wouldn't bother me if I lost them.

A few times I considered redeeming some cards....but I didn't find anything I wanted to buy with what cards were on offer.

Still, it's been a while and I could at least log on and see if things have changed.

I love gift cards. better then some funny thing you will never wear or some perfume you cant stand LOL

My son used to buy me the garden centre gift card in NZ, I loved it, always room for more flowers or plants

Well, week spent trying to get through to Bunnings customer support by phone and emails, finally, yesterday I managed to place my order on line.  Although, I had to give up on getting the paint, which was the main thing I wanted.  But I do know how to pick my battles; getting paint in different brand and in colour that I cannot confirm from large chip is not worth it .

I am now waiting to be told when can I pick up from local Bunnings

maybe you did not look like a tradie ?  DIY painting of rooms takes food out of professional painter's childrens mouths...

Assuming during Covid painters are allowed to work in peoples' houses....or if they are their work addresses fall within the 5km limit or whatever it is this week.

If the Vic Premier regards mowing as non-essential (right now my house looks like it has been deserted, the garden is so untidy), then how essential is painting a room?

Kaz - I have just reprimanded myself for taking food from the mouths of babes.

The last paint job on this house was 23 years ago - time for another.

DIY - cause I can.

There is no rule against buying paint, but as you cannot go in, it is too difficult to be sure about the color, and the only paint they have on their website is some brand I never heard of.

I guess with the mowing, it was just one of the things that people could throw mower in back of the ute and pretend they are working, and going out of their bubble.  At least it's winter, and the grass does not grow quite that fast.  The 5km are essential to contain the infection as much as possible in one area.  Although I am bit unhappy that 1/2 of my bubble is water; that is what you get when you live practically on the beach.  So while my friends living inland have whole large area to shop in, my options are very limited.  But it is all fast cobbled together emergency measure, and cannot be done fast enough with nuances.  Anyway, fingers crossed and in another few weeks we will be down to nothing, and able to get around bit more.  While o/s  countries are counting their daily infections in tens of thousands.

My grass is growing 6 inches per week.

Canberra is not that different to Melbourne, climate-wise, except that we have lower lows, which should inhibit grass growth. And after the next few days we will be back in Spring weather...

Winter disappeared almost a month ago.
