I will say that alcohol kills more people directly than marijuana. Prescription drugs too. But, since marijuana is the introductory drug to the "Getting High" scene and culture, does it pave the way to the heavier stuff? There seems to be evidence that it does. Sometimes the best protection wall for some people is ... "I will not take any drug to get high".

Marijuana was a so-called "Gateway Drug" before Colorado legalized recreational pot.
The dealer got their pot from the drug cartels- that also happen to sell cocaine, heroin and crystal- which exposes a person to the temptation of moving on to harder drugs.
But it isn't a "gateway drug" anymore. The pot dispensaries are legitimate businesses. No more shady back alley deals with a person that is likely to ask if you're interested in "something with a real kick."
If abortion was illegal, it too, would be a "Gateway Drug."

How so? Gateway to what?
And...wouldn't legally sourced MJ be even more so a "gateway drug", then, rather than less?
Wouldn't pot smokers still move on to the harder drugs once they found they wanted something to give them a greater high?
And...conversely, wouldn't regular users of the harder drugs demand legalisation of hard drugs in order to control dealers?
Asking for a friend.

I think it's like Covid, it depends on the underlying conditions a person may or may not have.
Like anything, a blanket approach is not a solution. Some people are loaded guns looking to go off / fire when on drugs. When sober they are functiional and there's no idication of any underlying mental or coping issues.

How does one decontaminate a rental house after a m.j. tribe have moved on ?
I imagine major outgassing issues for some time from mj smog absorbing carpets , curtains, walls etc
Walls easy. Wipe down with vinegar. There are some people who a allergic to THC so the carpets may have to be really steam cleaned.
