Good morning to all the "Golden Oldies"   What's everyone up to today?

Even tho Im a 62 baby I am getting all my bottom teeth out today ready for a denture, surely I half qualify 😛

Dont push.... Im typing as fast as I can.......

My daughter is a 62 baby Dilly.  Hope all goes well today:-x

Well at nearly 70 a whole new phase of my life is starting.

After a long time on the market we have a sale for our home and are moving interstate to be closer to our grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Does anyone know how expensive it is to have the removalists pack for you?  I have always done it myself but its a huge job - I suspect it also costs and arm and a leg.

Good luck Dilly

Rosie i know that Toll does all the packing etc for Defence Force personnel and do an A1 job but have no idea as to the cost., they move my son everytime they get a move.  The only thing that the family packs are jewellery cameras and computers the rest is all done for them.

So so glad you sold the house bet you are so excited.

We have had a massive tip out in this place......every cupboard pulled onto the floor and ruthlessly sorted.......gave heaps of linen etc to the salvos.

Its a massive job and once that contract is signed the pressure really is on:(

Congratulations Rosie, For some reason, I thought you had already sold and moved, hope it all goes smoothly for you. 🙂

Good morning seniors.

Rosie---throw out anything that will never be

used again now--not when you get to the new place.

Consider not taking large items like outdoor furnature,

these can be purchased cheap when you get there.

Richo.

I agree with Richo, I would pack  spare knickers, the small dog and probably the laptop, the rest could go with the house, walk in/walk out.  Sorry would also need to get my broom.

Morning all. At 65 I consider myself fairly lucky in the health stakes. I don't wear glasses, my hearing and smell are nigh on perfect.

I did have an accident in '89 which left me with a plate and screws on my left leg fibula and the tibia break restricts a little walking down stairs. I do have degenerative spine disease and scoliosis on the neck and spine due to the accident but I don't take anything for the pain. I just STOP and rest.

I and my OH are expecting to be grandparents for the first time in April/May. I have a son who is 40 and single and a daughter 37 who is married and expecting her very first baby after many years of problems. We went baby shopping yesterday, can't believe the amount of stuff bought when compared to the "old" days when life was much simpler and a whole lot less stress.

To say the least, I am proud so many of our generation have learnt to use computers. I worked with computers for many years to it wasn't new to me. To see the older generation taking the plunge to use new technology is fantastic.

Have a great day everyone. Daughter and I are off shopping again today after I finish the washing.

Cheers 🙂

Congratulations Sammee, its so exciting shopping for a new baby, my daughter was 35 when she had her 1st baby and the things that were bought amazed me, certainly not like the old days, they have to have everything that opens and shuts now days.

Have fun shopping

But isn't that pretty much the same with everything, gotta have the lot and all top of the range, no making do until you can afford something better.
