Does the collective health for all trump the right of individuals?

Please don't use that T word.

I never want to hear it again.

No, but I'm trypanophobic

Which "right of individuals"?

Maybe an American thing. I'm fairly sure we don't have one here.

But, due to the internet and TV, a lot of people seem to think that rights written into the Constitution of the USA apply outside of the USA.

No but they have ways. Like denying you employment if you refuse.

Just a curiosity question, do children have to have certain vaccinations to attend school there? And if so, what, if any , are the exemptions?

No, I don't believe it should be compulsory to have the covid vaccine.

We haven't had long enough to evaluate how effective it is or what side effects it has.

I do think that down the track, if people want to visit overseas or go on cruises, then proof of vaccination may be required for travel, which is fair enough. But that's a different thing.

If we can keep a lid on covid cases here in Australia (and personally, I'd be doing that by stopping all international arrivals except for dire emergency, as every case we get harks back to the virus escaping from staff at or connected to the quarantine hotels), then our need is not as dire.

Stop the arrivals, let the rest of the world have the vaccine and when they are done, then allow no one into this country till they have the proof they have had it, plus a recent test to show neg plus 2 weeks quarantine anyway, at their expense.

Don't see why we should be up for panic vaccines because the rest of the world is in a mess, let them sort it out.

how many to die before the line is crossed?

btw, who here refuses to drive without a seatbelt?

or a license?

there are lots of stuff we dont get a choice with

Seatbelts and licences eg.are not injected into the bloodstream though, are they?
