esat virus/malware protection

Any one here use esat NOD32 AntiVirus  as thier firewall?

 

Just had it installed as my bank was hacked, and since it has been running my laptop has slowed by 50%.

 

I have disabled it to work online, but that kind of defeats the purpose, anyone else had problems?

eset NOD32 has a small footprint. It shouldn't be slowing your computer.

 

It's effective.

Are you sure there is not another running in the background.

 

Cleared your history etc. 

 

Had a look at ' start up ' programs - does a laptop have ' start up ' . ??

That's what I was told, but when I disable it, the speed is back to normal. I am thinking now there may be another program running that is adversly affecting it, so will go searching now and have a look.

 

Thanks Countess, just wanted some feedback before I went in to check programs [and sorry, I meant Princess]
